I bared a long section of the wire, and carefully wrapped and twisted it tightly around the fuse leg. The bottom leg of the fuse is the ground side, the upper leg of the fuse is hot, so tap into the botton leg so as to have the fuse protect the line you're taking off the panel. Fuse number 42 is a good place to tap the accessory 12V you'll need for the stereo (red wire). Double check your stereo instructions to make sure they follow standard wiring color conventions.ΔΆ. The wires are colored to convention, so matching the stereo wires to the adapter wires is as easy as baring the ends, and wrapping the same colors together with wirenuts. It will give you all the wires you need to match those coming out of your stereo with the exception of the accessory 12V (the power that only comes on when the ignition switch is on). A conventional harness that gives you the german block connector to connect to the stock harness is best and inexpensive. It doesn't hurt to get one, and it will make the job a little easier, but it's not essential and with a little work you can do a conventional install of your stereo (and save some gas money). You don't need one of those expensive interface boxes unless you have steering wheel audio controls.
